Only English Premier League games will count towards You The Manager 07/08 points.
A player receiving 2 Yellow Cards (YC) and consequently a Red Card (RC) will score -3 pts only.
Only players listed as Goalkeepers and Defenders in the official 07/08 player lists will lose points for Conceding Goals (GC). Goalkeepers and Defenders will only lose points for goals conceded when they are on the pitch.
Clean Sheet (CS) points are awarded only when the team finishes the game with a clean sheet and to any player who has played 60 minutes or more of the game.
Points for goals are awarded in line with Soccerbase.com and Daily Mirror reports; points will not be changed if goals are subsequently re-assigned by FA Dubious Goals Committee. Likewise points are not changed for yellow and red cards rescinded after more than 24 hours from the match taking place.
Key Goal Contributions (KC) are the You the Manager version of assists. KC's are awarded to (a) players who make the last pass to the player who scores (b) players who make a significant contribution (run with ball, cross or pass) without any interruption in play, before the last pass is made, and (c) attacking players who play an active role in their side winning a penalty.
KC's are not awarded to players who win and then score the penalty themselves or if a goalkeeper saves the penalty and a goal is scored from the rebound. the judge's decision shall be final and they shall not enter into any correspondence regarding points deducted or allocated to players.
All YTM game stats will be updated on the same day as the real-life fixtures they refer to.
Scores will be updated by 9pm on weekends, and 11pm on weeknights. Key Contribution points will take up to 36 hours to appear on the site, giving the judging panel enough time to asses each goal scored. The YTM team will update the YTM blog when all stats and KCs have been uploaded into the competition.
The following applies to the awarding of Key Contributions:
- More than one player can be awarded Key Contribution points per goal.
- A significant touch from an outfield opposition player would negate a Key Contribution.
- If a goalkeeper does not have control of the ball and parries a shot or drops a cross or the ball rebounds off the woodwork, the attacking player shooting or crossing the ball receives the Key Contribution if a goal directly ensues. This does not apply for penalty kicks.
